About Superior Piano Lessons Home Studio

Meet the Instructor

Hi! My name is Rebekah, and I’ve been playing the piano since I was in first grade. My piano performance accomplishments are humble. As a child, I won a few scholarship talent competitions and placed in a couple of piano competitions in southeast Idaho. I enjoy playing music like the Pathetique Sonata by Beethoven, Hungarian Rhapsody 2 by Rachmaninoff, and Arabesque 1 by Debussy, as well as modern music like The Beatles, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift.

Teaching Philosophy

More important than my own ability to play the piano is my ability to teach. I’ve been teaching piano lessons for nearly two decades, and I’ve finally settled into a happy studio, ready to accept new students of all ages and levels.

As an educator, my primary mission is to cultivate an environment where kind mentorship plays a central role in the learning experience. I believe that piano lessons are more than simply learning technical piano skills; piano teaching involves guiding students through their personal and professional growth and noticing and nurturing their unique strengths and passions.

Individualized Instruction

Each student brings a unique set of experiences, skills, and goals to the classroom. Recognizing this diversity, I tailor my mentorship approach to meet the individual needs of each student. For example, one student may enjoy the free-flowing creativity experienced through improvisation. For that student, we would dedicate time each lesson to learning techniques and theory to develop that skill. Another student may be interested in creating songs based off of original poetry. I encourage students to set ambitious yet attainable goals that mean something personally and provide them with the resources, feedback, and encouragement needed to achieve them.
